Does multiple sclerosis cause brain ischemia?

My brother has brain ischemia detected of a CT scan, does that indicate that he may have multiple sclerosis? As after the CT scan he has had a MRI scan, but the consultant has told us that he isn't expecting anything worrying back. So that is why I am wondering if there is a link between multiple sclerosis and brain ischemia?
